LA PLANCHA
La Plancha tells the story of a married couple and their clothes iron, whom they name Marieta. While we witness the experiences and nightmares of Marieta, two forensic investigators try to reconstruct a story with her help. But clothes irons do not speak.
Synopsis:
Winning project of the LAB.ESCENA19 call of the National Theater Company of Costa Rica in the category of Laboratory of Narratives of the Show.
In Costa Rica, "plancha music" is understood as a group of mainly romantic musical productions, almost always in Spanish, from the 1970s and 1980s. It is the music with which the mothers sounded the house while doing housework.
With La Plancha, we wanted to confront the established notions of being a man and being a woman in couple relationships, the small implicit and daily violence that we have normalized socio-affectively, and how they are directly permeated by typical cultural mechanisms of the mass culture.
La Plancha is an original idea of the Priekopník Veverička Collective with the dramaturgy of Andrea Monge N.
